Ravenna is fortunate to be the home of University Hospital – Portage Medical Center. University Hospitals maintains a large healthcare system throughout Northeast Ohio and the Portage Medical Center represents just one of its many state-of-the-art facilities. UH Portage Medical Center is a Level 3 Trauma Center and recently received Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. Combined with a very well equipped and highly trained Emergency Medical System, patients have rapid and full access to life saving treatments for a variety of injuries and illnesses.

In the unfortunate event of an extremely serious trauma or very complex medical issues, Ravenna is in very close proximity to two adult Level One trauma centers, Akron City Hospital and Akron General Hospital, and a world class Pedatric Hospital, Akron Children’s Hospital. The world renowned Cleveland Clinic – Main Campus is less than an hour away.

The highly ranked and world renowned main campuses of University Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic are less than an hour away by ground and mere minutes by air medical transport.

The Northeast Ohio Medical Medical University (NEOMED) is located 10 minutes to the south in Rootstown, Ohio. Many of our area’s fine doctors trained at NEOMED and have deep roots in the community.
