About the Ravenna Police Department
The Ravenna City Police Department proudly serves the 11,500+ citizens of the City of Ravenna, with a staff of 27 sworn Law Enforcement Officers and 11 Communications Officers. The department is equipped with a state of the art computer aided dispatch system, mobile data terminals, enhanced 911, and other advanced technology to better serve its citizens. Our officers answer over 20,000 calls for service each year ranging from public assists such as vehicle lockouts to more serious criminal offenses such as assaults, burglaries and robberies. In case of more serious tactical incidents, the department belongs to Metro Swat which is a multi-jurisdictional agency that further enhances our response capabilities. The department works with a Federal Task Force through the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency), which investigates illegal drug activity in Ravenna and throughout the county.

As Chief of Police, serving Ravenna is more than just a job – it’s personal. I was born and raised here. I take great pride in leading the dedicated men and women of the Ravenna Police Department, and I am fully committed to supporting them and the citizens we are honored to protect.

🇺🇸 A Special Gift to Ravenna Police Department
We recently received a beautiful handcrafted gift with a special connection to the Ravenna Police Department.
Justin Simpson, nephew of retired Ravenna Police Captain Terry Lee, handcrafted this wooden American flag featuring the Ravenna Police Department patch and generously presented it to our department.
The time, craftsmanship, and attention to detail Justin put into this piece are truly appreciated, and we’re proud to have it displayed as part of our department.
Gifts like this mean even more when they come from those with ties to the Ravenna Police family. We are grateful to Justin for sharing his talent with us and to retired Captain Terry Lee for his many years of service to our department and community.

🇺🇸 Supporting Those Who Served 🇺🇸
Today, the Ravenna Police Department had the opportunity to welcome Sgt. Todd Vogler with Veterans Affairs Police Services for Veteran In-Crisis Training.
Sgt. Vogler provided our department with valuable training focused on PTSD and the unique challenges veterans may experience during a crisis. Officers learned about resources and tools that can be used to help veterans in the moment, as well as referral options available for continued support and treatment.
In addition to the training, Sgt. Vogler provided our department with approximately 100 backpacks filled with essential items to distribute to veterans in need. Each backpack contains items such as water, snacks, socks, and other everyday necessities, all provided at no cost to our department or community.
These backpacks will now be available to our officers when they encounter a veteran who may be struggling or simply needs a little extra support.
We are incredibly grateful to Sgt. Vogler and Veterans Affairs Police Services for providing our officers with additional knowledge, resources, and tangible tools to better serve the veterans in our community.
To those who have served our country: You are not alone, and help is available. 🇺🇸

He is a male and is currently safe (and making himself at home), will be taken to the APL shortly to check for any injuries.

Because of the overwhelming response, Nate, another barber at 2ILLXCUTS, will be joining Dylan to help provide haircuts so they can serve as many kids as possible! 👏
