Parks and Recreation

Ravenna offers a variety of parks and recreational activities, with three main parks located in the city – Havre’s Woods, John Tontimonia and Chestnut Hills. Shelters at each of the parks are available for gathering. There is also a trail head for the hike and bike trail which connects Ravenna to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Citizens can also take advantage of the Ravenna Athletic Center (RAC) – a 7,500 square foot state-of-the-art fitness facility equipped with fitness machines, indoor track, free weights, cycling studio, group fitness room, and offers group fitness classes.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide residents and visitors a clean, safe, enjoyable and well operated park system while offering a multitude of diverse programs for all ages throughout the year.
A message from the Director
Hello, and welcome to the Ravenna Parks and Recreation webpage!
I’m excited to introduce myself as the new Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Ravenna. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a great community and I’m eager to work with our residents to create innovative and enriching experiences for everyone. I believe that outdoor spaces should be more than just places to visit, they should be where connections are made, new skills are learned, and lasting memories are created. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet afternoon in one of our parks, participating in a fitness class, or in one of our programs/events, we aim to provide opportunities that enhance your quality of life and bring our community together!
We have a Parks and Recreation staff, that is passionate about providing safe parks and developing programs that enhance the lives of everyone who participates. We’re committed to ensuring that every resident feels welcomed, valued, and inspired. We have big plans to continue improving our parks, facilities, and recreational opportunities. I’m excited to build upon the excellent work already in progress and to collaborate with residents in shaping a vibrant and dynamic future for our city.
Thank you for being part of our growing community, and I hope to see you enjoying everything Ravenna Parks and Recreation has to offer!
