Utility Billing

The City of Ravenna Water Billing Office is located at 530 North Freedom St., in the City Hall Annex building. Our office is best accessed by parking near the front of the building and entering the northern most door.

For handicapped access please use the rear entrance and enter through the fitness center.

Customer Service:

We respond to customer service requests such as explaining monthly charges, scheduling meter service appointments, processing requests to initiate or discontinue service, and negotiating payment arrangements.

Customer Service Clerks are available Monday – Friday from 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. (except holidays). Clerks are able to access account information and provide information about: account balance, automatic payment withdrawal, and any other general billing inquiries (high bills, no bills, explanation of charges, etc.). Please check the FAQ for answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Bill Payment Options:

Automatic Withdrawl

Our Automatic Withdrawal program allows you to pay your bill automatically each month without writing a check. Your bill will be paid on the due date using your checking account. You will continue to receive bills so you can reference the amount that will be withdrawn.

Online Payment

Online Payment is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Pay online with your checking account or with any Credit card or debit card that is backed by MasterCard, Visa or Discover Card. A service fee of $3.45 will apply, the maximum transaction amount is $250.

Our Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Pay over the phone with your checking account or with any Credit Card or Debit Card that is backed by MasterCard, Visa or Discover Card. A service fee of $3.45 will apply, the maximum transaction amount is $250.

Drop Box Payment

We also have two payment drop boxes for your convenience.

  • Drop Box #1 is a ‘walk-up’ box located at the rear entrance to the City Hall Annex located at 530 N. Freedom St. Ravenna (the box is embedded into the wall of the building on the left side of the rear doors) View Map
  • Drop Box #2 is accessible from your car or by foot and is located on Maple Lane (the alley between City Hall at 210 Park Way and the Fire Department at 214 Park Way) View Map

Payments may be deposited in the drop boxes 24 hours a day.

If you have received a notice that was hanging on your door, please DO NOT mail your payment or place it in our drop boxes. Please make payment in person so that the situation can be resolved promptly.

Delinquent / Past Due Accounts:

Delinquent Notices
A delinquent notice is sent once any account has a balance older than sixty (60) days past due. If payment or payment arrangements have not been made within 10 days of the date printed on the notice then shut-off procedures will begin. Delinquent accounts will be assessed a service fee once the shut-off notice has been posted. Once a service has been disconnected payment in full must be made to restore that service.
Payment Arrangements
We try to be flexible when customers need more time to pay on their utility bill. Our typical payment extension on a disconnect notice is 10 calendar days. We also consider payment history before granting an extension. No arrangements will be made after a service has been disconnected. If a service has been disconnected a payment in full must be made. You may only request payment extensions by calling the office 330-297-2151 or in person at our payment window. Payment arrangements do not waive penalties if the payment is received after the due date.

Establishing Service

If you are renting a residential property you do not need to fill out an application, all City utility accounts at residential rental properties stay in the property owner’s name. Please bring the completed form to the Utility Billing office at 530 N Freedom St. with a copy of your lease or supporting ownership documentation. By signing the application you agree to all Rules and Regulations. governing the City of Ravenna and the Utility office.


The City of Ravenna offers a discount program for Senior Citizens (age 62 and older), Residents with a documented disability, or citizens on the HEAP program, please call the Utility Billing office with any questions regarding this discount and how to apply for the discount.

Type of Service
This is a brief description of the service being charged.
Read Date
Dates billed for water and sewer usage.
Meter Reading
Shows your previous meter reading and your current read. Using these two readings is how your consumption is calculated.
Measured in HCF (Hundred Cubic Feet). This is your actual usage that is being billed for. 1 HCF = 748 gallons.
